Hey there, I'm Krista!
When I bought my first set of watercolors at age 19, I had no clue they would sit in a box for 20 years. Occasionally, I got them out, only to become frustrated and overwhelmed. I would quickly give up.
Finally, at 39, I took a beginner watercolor class at my local art center. When the class ended, I loved watercolor, but I did not have skills I needed to get better.
Watercolor had me under its spell. I researched and practiced anything I could find on watercolor. I was getting better, but it was not consistent.
Learning bits and pieces here and there was difficult. Finally, sitting down and figuring what was giving me success in my paintings. Focusing on and practicing these techniques is when it all changed.
The joy and happiness I felt when I mastered a technique was like a drug lol. It was that joy that changed my life in ways I could have never imagined.
Now, I am a professional artist for the past 11 years. I have been selling my artwork in galleries since 2010. I have been featured in the International Artist's Magazine and have had my artwork licensed by Rogers Chocolates and the Proxim Group. Not bad for a self-taught artist.
I believe art can change lives; it did mine but that's a story for another time. This is why I am so passionate about helping beginners experience that joy.
